We trolled that area for about an hour and saw no action back there. No hits, no bait movement. nothing. So we headed back to were we started because we felt like that was our best shot. When we were pulling up there were about 10 gulls diving in the channel that lead into the duck pond. We tied up to the bulkhead again and within 3 casts my friend snagged another bass along the pylons. I fished with my shiner under a cork for a while longer then decided to switch to a shiner on the bottom. On my first cast I hauled in a 17 inch drum. I casted right into the current again a few times and snagged a 3 pound channel cat. This spot never really died off but it got slow at times so we found a cut and caught 2 more bass on rattle traps. moved again and caught one more at the mouth of another cut. Out of all the fish we caught NONE of them were caught along the shoreline. All of them were caught in current in the opening of a cut. We swung by the bulkhead once more and ended up putting two more bass into the boat by fishing the bottom with shiners directly in the strongest moving water. We ended the day with 8 bass, 1 channel cat, and a drum. It was partly cloudy with a north wind in the morning that switched over to a south wind during the day. One more thing to note. All the bass we caught on artificials were caught on Rattle Traps. I need to stock up on those things. They worked great today. -Keith
